Video: ‘Fantastic opportunity’ – Antonio Conte opens the door for Christian Eriksen reunion

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte has admitted that he would like to work once again with Christian Eriksen.

Conte was speaking to Sky Sports ahead of Tottenham’s trip to Brentford tomorrow evening where they will come up against the Dane who has been in splendid form since returning to professional football in January, having signed a short-term deal until the end of the season.

Eriksen’s influence on Thomas Frank’s side has seen the Premier League newcomers move comfortably away from the drop zone and almost certainly secure their top flight status for another season.

The Times revealed earlier this week that Tottenham are keen to bring the 30-year-old back to the club this summer.

Football Daily, who are part of Sky Sports’ social media network have released footage of an interview taken ahead of tomorrow’s match in which Conte spoke in glowing terms about Eriksen, having worked with him at Inter Milan and the possibility of the pair reuniting in the future.

A move to bring Eriksen back to the club, especially on a free transfer is a no-brainer if both the Spurs hierarchy and the player can move beyond the nature of his exit.

Spurs are too heavily reliant on Harry Kane being the player to unlock a defence with a killer pass and will allow the England captain to operate higher up the pitch at times to mix up his game if he is complimented in the side by the one they call ‘maestro’.
