Tottenham flattered to deceive in their Champions League opener against Olympiacos yesterday and had to settle for a point in the end.
The lacklustre performance was a massive departure from the team’s showing against Crystal Palace last Saturday when they played with unbelievable intensity and aggression and never let the opposition settle.
On the back of the draw against Olympiacos, former Chelsea and Spurs defender Jason Cundy has launched a scathing attack on Tottenham, which certainly wouldn’t sit well with Spurs fans.
Speaking to talkSPORT, the 49-year-old insisted that Tottenham’s performance on Wednesday night once again confirmed their status as nearly men.
Watch Cundy’s full rant below:
“Spurs’ draw with Olympiacos sums them up. They’re the nearly men.” 👀
“They nearly win the Champions League, nearly win the Premier League.” 🏆

Spurs Web Opinion
Cundy has made no secret of his dislike for Tottenham in the past and nothing that he says tends to surprise me. Like a lot of Talksport’s content, this is designed just to generate clicks and to make Spurs fans enraged. While the performance against Olympiacos was disappointing, Pochettino’s men are not far from achieving something big and will get better as the season goes on and they build some momentum.
