Video: Former Newcastle player tips Harry Kane to overtake Alan Shearer

Former Crystal Palace and Newcastle United midfielder Darren Ambrose believes that Harry Kane will break the record to become the Premier League’s all time goalscoring record.

The title is currently held by Alan Shearer, who netted 260 top flight goals during his time with Southampton, Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United (Premier League).

Kane netted his 150th Premier League goal when he headed home from close range to score an 88th minute winner for Tottenham during their 1-0 win against West Bromwich Albion yesterday afternoon.

Ambrose, who played alongside Shearer during his time at Newcastle is under no doubt that if Kane can avoid injury and remain in the Premier League, he will take the crown.

The 27-year-old must score 110 further Premier League goals to draw level with Shearer and Ambrose believes that he will do it as a Tottenham player due to his love for the club and the fact that the North Londoners are building a side around him.
