Video – Former Prem club owner lists five reasons why Spurs are the ‘best club in the League’

Tottenham Hotspur have proved their doubters wrong so far this season, as they exited Boxing Day as the second placed team in the League.

Spurs started the season with a delayed stadium, and no signings to show for their summer transfer window.

They also had a number of players, including Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Dembele, Vorm and Llorente all coming to the ends of their contracts at the end of the season.

Many believed Pochettino wouldn’t be able to achieve top four with the current squad, yet alone challenge for the title.

Fast forward to December and Spurs are Liverpool’s closest rivals, they are into the last 16 of the Champions League, and have made the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup.

Former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan has been singing the praises of everyone involved at the club, and listed the five reasons why Tottenham are the best run team in the league.

He said (talkSPORT): “Number one, it is because of Spurs’s organic development of players and their youth development.

“Two, because of their propensity to go down the pyramid and scout properly. No other club in the Premier League would have bought Dele Alli [from MK Dons].

“Three, because they put top players like Harry Kane out on loan for passages of time in their career so they develop the right attitude.

“Four, because of their control over finances.

“And five, because they are building the best stadium in the world.”
