Video: Former Spur Marcus Edwards scores for the third game in a row

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Marcus Edwards has once again found the back of the net in Portugal.

The 21-year-old was in Primeira Liga action for Vitória de Guimarães in their away fixture at Gil Vicente this evening.

After finding his side 2-0 down in the first half, Edwards started and finished a move which led to Vitória pulling a goal back.

On 67 minutes, Edwards picked up the ball and beat an opposition player before playing a one-two with a team-mate and received the ball back in the area and finished with his right foot underneath the goalkeeper.

Vitória went on to find an equaliser four minutes from time to move them to fifth in the table behind Sporting.

Opinion

Edwards has now scored a goal in his last three matches (transfermarkt), who knows if Mourinho had been appointed earlier, would he still have had an opportunity to prove his worth in North London?
