Video: Former Spurs director of football makes claim about Daniel Levy

Tottenham’s former director of football administration, Darren Eales has defended Daniel Levy, insisting that the Spurs chairman cares deeply about the club.

The popularity of Levy and ENIC among the Tottenham fan base is arguably at an all-time low at the moment.

The European Super League fiasco last season saw protests against the ownership, with some fans calling for the club to be sold.

The events of the last few days have done little to repair that already strained relationship, with the club refusing to meet with the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust to discuss their long-term strategy.

There has been outrage on social media from some Spurs fans to THST being snubbed, with many seeing it as evidence that the club do not care about the fans.

Eales, who worked with Levy at Tottenham for several years after being appointed as the club’s director of football administration in 2010, insisted that Levy cares deeply about the club and often gets unfairly criticised.

The people who hate Levy will never be convinced of his intentions despite the fact that almost everyone who has worked with him, including the likes of Damien Comolli and Eales, repeatedly commend the Spurs chairman.

It is worth bearing in mind that the likes of Comolli have no reason to go out of their way to praise Levy since they were fired by the Spurs chairman.
