Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Danny Murphy believes that the enjoyment factor is football is currently diminishing.
Murphy, who now works as a football pundit was speaking after Tottenham’s 2-2 draw with Manchester City.
He labelled the new handball rule as ridiculous, while also stating that the decision to chalk off City’s late goal should not have been made.
The home side thought that they had won the match in the 91st minute when Gabriel Jesus netted, but referee Michael Oliver had a handball in the build-up by Aymeric Laporte brought to his attention by VAR, and, in conjunction with new laws, subsequently disallowed the effort.
"I think the enjoyment factor of watching football at the moment for the supporters is becoming less because of the handball rule, and VAR."
Danny Murphy's not a fan, what do you think?
