Video: French star yells ‘Harry Kane’ after scoring past Hugo Lloris in training

Antoine Griezmann screamed Harry Kane’s name after scoring past Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris during a training session with France this week.

Kane, 28, has been in excellent form of late which set him up to enter the March international break on a strong note.

He notched his 49th goal for England against Switzerland on Saturday which brought him level with Bobby Charlton, joint-second on the all-time list (Transfermarkt).

And Kane’s accuracy in front of goal appears to have spread across to other top European forwards, most notably Griezmann of Atletico Madrid.

In a short YouTube video showing some of the France squad practising a finishing drill, the 31-year-old’s appreciation for the Spurs striker came out in full force.

On 35 seconds, he powered a header past Spurs’ Lloris before running off celebrating and shouting ‘Harry Kane!’ with his effort reminiscent of some of the England captain’s goals over the years.

Griezmann’s header almost resembled that which Kane scored in second half stoppage time against Manchester City last month, which proved to be the game-winner in a hectic encounter.

Spurs Web Opinion

Over the last few years, Kane’s level in front of goal has taken off massively – so much so that he has become one of the best centre forwards in the world.

It is pretty cool to see other top players choosing to impersonate him when it comes to shooting drills which only shows the huge level he has set.
