Video: Gareth Bale continues to build fitness with neat assist for Wales

Gareth Bale admitted last week that while he is slowly but surely getting his sharpness back, he is still not at 100 per cent (Wales Online).

On the evidence of his display for Wales over the international break, it does not look like the Tottenham man is far off.

After setting up David Brooks’ goal in the 1-0 Nations League win over the Republic of Ireland on Sunday, Bale bagged yet another assist for his country in their 3-1 win over Finland yesterday.

The 31-year-old picked up the ball centrally, drifted into space and played a perfectly waited through ball for Harry Wilson to thrash home from close range.

Bale once again showed on Wednesday against Finland that he can be quite dangerous while drifting infield and picking up the ball in little pockets of space behind the striker. That is also how Jose Mourinho seems to be using him rather than asking him to hog the right-hand touchline.
