Video: Gareth Bale on Tottenham’s mindset coming into Wolfsberger tie

Tottenham Hotspur all but booked their place in the last sixteen of the Europa League last night following a convincing 4-1 win against Wolfsberger.

Spurs head coach Jose Mourinho decided to hand rare starts to Gareth Bale and Dele Alli with the pair rewarding the Portuguese with eye-catching performances.

Bale provided the assist for Heung-min Son’s opener and then turned goalscorer when he performed a clever turn inside the box and curled the ball home with his left foot.

The Welshman featured for 64 minutes before being replaced by Lucas Moura and revealed after the final whistle that it was Tottenham’s intention to try to start the match in lively fashion and take the game to their Austrian opponents.

Bale highlighted the importance of the aim of trying to score as many goals as possible and getting the win to breed confidence following a difficult few weeks on the pitch for the North Londoners and admitted that it was be good to be back on the scoresheet.
