Video: ‘Get over it and let the kid live’ – Former striker leaps to the defence of Dele

Former Premier League striker Clinton Morrison has lept to the defence of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli.

The England international was photographed on the front page of today’s edition of The Sun who ran a story describing him as a ‘boozy Tottenham ace’ after he was captured on camera being helped away after apparently collapsing on holiday.

Morrison believes that the 23-year-old should be allowed to enjoy himself and be allowed to do what he wants while it is the off-season.

It is a completely unfair story from The Sun to try and make a headline out of the fact that a young man has gone on holiday with his partner and is now being chastised for enjoying himself.

If the event had happened during the middle of the season then naturally there would be grounds for Spurs fans to feel aggrieved, however, Dele is human like the rest of us and should be allowed to do what he wants ahead of the new campaign.

Spurs fans will be hoping that Dele can play in a more attacking role next season after being forced to drop deeper than usual last season due to the unprecedented injury issues we suffered in central midfield.
