Tottenham put in a professional performance to beat Borussia Dortmund 1-0 in Germany tonight and 4-0 on aggregate in the tie overall.
Tottenham had to resist an early on onslaught by the home side as the Germans came out all guns blazing.
However, Spurs defended resolutely and put the tie beyond Dortmund courtesy of a Harry Kane goal early in the second half. The England captain finished with typical confidence after being put through on goal by Moussa Sissoko.
The strike was Harry Kane’s 24th goal in European competitions, making him Tottenham’s all-time leading European goal scorer. After the game, Kane recorded a message for the fans which was posted on Twitter by the club’s official account.
