Former Tottenham striker Darren Bent has proactively suggested that Tottenham could decide to call time on the Gareth Bale experiment and end the Welsh superstar’s loan deal prematurely .
Bale has only made one Premier League start since returning to Tottenham during the summer transfer window with most of his minutes to date coming in the Europa League (transfermarkt.com).
The 31-year-old did show some signs in Tottenham’s 4-0 win over Ludogorets last week that he was getting his sharpness back after he appeared to be more willing to take players on and get crosses and shots away.
Jose Mourinho has insisted that he is happy with Bale’s progression and that the Welshman’s body just needs to acclimatise to playing twice in a week (Football.London).
However, Bent has suggested that the Real Madrid loanee’s time is running out and that Spurs fans will not be patient with him for too much longer.
Here’s what Bent said on talkSPORT Breakfast about Bale:
⏰ “Bale is on a year’s loan so he is running out of time!”
👎 “Right now he is nowhere near the Bale that we remember.”
😬 “It is a strange one but at the minute the signs do not look great.”
Darren Bent says Gareth Bale needs to show his worth at #THFC & soon!
