Here is a sight for sore Spurs eyes: Heung-min Son has arrived back at Hotspur Way and has met up with his teammates again. In a video shared to the club’s social media channels, Son can be seen embracing Pape Sarr and Cristian Romero in the fitness suite.
Tottenham have had to cope without their captain for the whole of 2024 so far, with Heung-min Son away on international duty representing South Korea at the Asian Cup in Qatar.
Despite his best efforts, Son was unable to take his country to the final, having fallen at the semi-final stage in a 2-0 defeat to Jordan earlier this week.
While the majority of the squad and their manager Jurgen Klinsmann are heading back to South Korea for an evaluation of the failure to reach the final, Son was planning to return to North London immediately (Sungmo Lee).
According to The Athletic, Son will undergo standard assessments upon his return and could be in line to be a part of Ange Postecoglou‘s squad on Saturday for the visit of Brighton.

Sonny is back in the building
Now, we have the proof that Son is indeed back at Tottenham and getting prepared for the weekend, as he has been spotted wandering around the fitness facilities at Hotspur Way and reuniting with some of his teammates.
The clip, which was shared by the Tottenham Hotspur Twitter account, shows Son walking back into the fitness room, and being hugged by Pape Matar Sarr, who has also been absent for much of this year due to his own international commitments.
Cristian Romero then heads over to say hello to Son. The Argentine has been standing in as captain in Son’s absence but would hand over the armband this weekend if Son is passed fit to play.
Spurs Web Opinion
This has literally made my day. I really hope we get to see Sonny on the pitch on Saturday, even if it’s not for the full game. His mere presence would be massive for us in trying to get a win against a tough opponent like Brighton.
