There were plenty of familiar faces back in a Tottenham shirt this week as the Spurs Legends took on a Celebrity XI for a charity match at the R&D Stadium.
The event was organised by the current Head of Kit and Equipment at Spurs, Steve Dukes, and all money raised will go to Essex and Herts Air Ambulance and other local charities via the Charlie Dukes Fund.
The Tottenham legend team consisted of Heurelho Gomes, Stephen Kelly, Danny Rose, Younes Kaboul, David Bentley, Tom Huddlestone, Aaron Lennon, Edgar Davids, Dimitar Berbatov, Robbie Keane, Wilson Palacios, Michel Vorm, Jermain Defoe, Sebastien Bassong, Michael Dawson, Ledley King, Sandro, and Pascal Chimbonda. The team was also managed by Harry Redknapp.
The Celebrity squad was managed by Ray Winstone and included the likes of Mark Wright, Carlton Cole, Joe Cole, Billy Wingrove, Wayne Routledge, Jamie O’Hara, Yaya Toure, Antony Costa, Adam Smith, and more.
Defoe rolled back the years by netting a hat-trick, while Robbie Keane got a brace, Keane’s son scored from the spot, and Sandro also scored in a 7-1 win.
