Video: Hugo Lloris explains what went wrong for Spurs in the first half against Chelsea

Hugo Lloris has admitted that the Tottenham Hotspur players had too much focus on the defensive side of their game during the first half against Chelsea.

The Frenchman believes that due to the decision to sit back and defend, it allowed their London rivals to gain control of the ball.

A baffling decision by Eric Dier to go to ground in the penalty area and try to clear the ball only to bring down Timo Werner proved to be costly with Jorginho making no mistake from the spot to score the only goal of the game.

Tottenham fans had to endure yet another painful 90 minutes in which their side lacked a clear goal threat and at times looked clueless as what to do with the ball.

The captain claimed that his side were unlucky to lose the match after having a couple of good chances in the second half to pull level.
