Video: Hugo Lloris opens up on ‘sterile’ Spurs after Liverpool loss

Tottenham Hotspur missed the opportunity to be crowned as champions of Europe for the first time in their history after suffering a heartbreaking 2-0 defeat to Liverpool in Madrid.

Spurs were behind after just a couple of minutes into the match when referee Damir Skomina pointed to the spot without hesitation after Sadio Mane’s cross was adjudged to have hit Moussa Sissoko’s arm.

The Spurs players protested that Sissoko had no time to get his arm out of the way as he gestured to try and get his team-mates into position.

Speaking after the defeat, Spurs captain Hugo Lloris believes that his side should have put more ‘craziness’ in their performance and should have done more with their possession of the ball after failing to create many chances early on in the game.

Lloris has urged Spurs to build on their experience of reaching a first Champions League final and to build upon it for next season.
