Tottenham Hotspur were unable to record their first Premier League win under Antonio Conte this afternoon as they were held to a 0-0 draw away to Everton, but the ‘delighted’ head coach is convinced he is at the right club.
The Lilywhites showed far more energy and urgency than the final days under Nuno Espirito Santo but the same old problems with creativity emerged for Conte’s Spurs.
The two best chances of the game for Tottenham fell to either wing-back, with Emerson Royal heading over and Sergio Reguilon lifting his shot into the stands.
Giovani Lo Celso hit the post in the dying minutes and Hugo Lloris had a penalty decision overturned by VAR, but the game was destined to remain goalless and the points were shared at Goodison.
Overall, plenty of positive signs for Spurs under Conte but also lots of familiar problems to work on too.
After the match, Conte revealed that he was delighted to be at Tottenham, adding that he knows he is at the right club because they can do a good job together.

Conte speaks very well. You can’t help but feel that Tottenham finally have the man who is going to deliver on his promises and get the club back to where they belong. There are some tough days ahead, but it will be worth it. I am convinced.
