Video: “I didn’t expect to come on and score” – Spurs striker discusses crucial CL goal

Tottenham striker Fernando Llorente has had a frustrating couple of years at the football club. The 34-year-old has only featured in a hand full of games for Pochettino’s men over the last couple of years.

The World Cup winner did well when he got a run of games earlier in the year after Harry Kane suffered an ankle injury. The Spaniard scored some crucial goals in Kane’s absence, none more crucial than the header against Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 tie, to make the score 3-0.

The goal completely changed the mood around the tie and left the Germans with a mountain to climb in the second leg, which they didn’t manage.

Llorente has now spoken about the “brilliant” feeling of coming on late in the tie and scoring a crucial goal.
