Video: ‘I just wish my team was doing better’ – Son on Spurs’ disappointing season

Heung-min Son has claimed that his personal performance on the pitch this season means nothing when Tottenham Hotspur have experienced a disappointing campaign.

After topping the Premier League table at the start of December, some pundits were tipping Jose Mourinho’s side to win the title, however, the club have experienced a spectacular fall from grace in recent months.

Mourinho was given his marching orders by Daniel Levy with the club having experienced a surprise exit in the Europa League at the hands of Dinamo Zagreb, while they also trail fourth-place Chelsea by five points in the race to secure a route back into the Champions League.

Son admits that Tottenham should be competing higher up the table than the seventh place they currently occupy going into this weekend.

The South Korean has highlighted the importance of finishing the season strongly, starting with Sunday’s match against relegated Sheffield United in North London.
