What a strange old game that was from Tottenham Hotspur. Out-gunned, outclassed, out-performed in every sense of the word, yet they walked away from the Etihad with a point.
Man City pegged Spurs back from the first minute, with the Lilywhites camped in their own half, barely able to get a foot on the ball. That pressure eventually told as Sterling nodded home the opener after a delightful De Bruyne cross.
However, this goal seemed to inject a bit of life into the Spurs legs, as Lamela carried the ball forward and stroked it home to equalise just four minutes later.
While Spurs did improve, Man City refused to let up, taking the lead once more through Sergio Aguero as Alderweireld and Sanchez let him get goal side for a tap in.
To say that Tottenham rode their luck after that is an understatement, as Man City threw wave after wave at the Spurs backline.
Spurs somehow managed to hang on and grab an equaliser through Lucas Moura, just 19 seconds after he came on. Check out the noise in the away end after that second goal which was recorded by a Man City fan located near to the North London faithful.
Once again, Spurs’ away support was immense today pic.twitter.com/JX7OjXpdyC
