Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Harry Winks has denied that the Lilywhites have an issue when it comes to creating opportunities in matches, speaking after the side’s dull 0-0 draw against Bournemouth on Thursday.
Some Spurs fans were extremely displeased with the team’s lack of attacking intent at the Vitality Stadium but Winks insisted that the performance against the Cherries was a one-off.
The 24-year-old suggested that Tottenham have been creating opportunities since the restart but have not been clinical in the final third.
However, he insisted that the players are determined to keep fighting to take the club back where it needs to be.
Here’s what the midfielder told Sky Sports after the draw against Bournemouth:
Spurs Web Opinion
Apart from the final twenty minutes of the game, we simply did not commit enough bodies forward or move the ball quickly enough to create any openings. While I understand why Jose was so cautious after the side conceded three in their last away outings, I felt Eddie Howe’s side were there for the taking had we shown a little more attacking intent.
