Video: ‘I’ve got a lot of assists’ – Spurs man says he has components to be a modern full-back

Tottenham defender, Kyle Walker-Peters, has opened up on how the role of a full-back has changed in the modern game.

The right-back struggled to win opportunities at Spurs this season and was subsequently loaned out to Southampton in January.

Unfortunately for the 23-year-old, he only managed to play a single game for the Saints before the Premier League season was suspended back in March.

However, Walker-Peters has revealed that he wants to make more of an impact in the final third when footballing action returns, adding goals to his game.

The Spurs academy graduate also admitted that he had always idolised Barcelona superstar Dani Alves.

Walker-Peters has to prioritise improving his defensive game rather than adding goals to his game. While he is not exceptional going forward, the 23-year-old is decent enough and makes intelligent choices on the ball. However, he has been bullied defensively on occasion and that is where he needs to improve if he has any hope of getting opportunities under Mourinho.
