Jamie Donley made a habit of scoring screamers in youth football for Tottenham over recent years and the attacking midfielder is now doing the same in League One, with his latest strike proving a match-winner for Leyton Orient away at Wrexham.

Jamie Donely continues to thrive at Leyton Orient
After overcoming a difficult spell a few months ago, Donley has been getting better and better during his loan spell at Orient, with his dazzling displays in the number ten role enthralling the O’s fans and Tottenham supporters alike.
The 20-year-old’s name hit the wider footballing spotlight when he scored from close to the halfway line in the FA Cup clash against Manchester City two weeks ago (although it officially went down as a Stefan Ortega own goal).
The on-loan Spurs youngster is showing no signs of slowing down, demonstrating once again what he can do on his wand of a left foot in Orient’s trip to Wrexham on Tuesday.

Richie Wellens’s men had to do it the hard way as it was Wrexham who took the lead in 15 minutes to get the home fans going. Orient then equalised through striker Charlie Kelman on 30 minutes and the scores stayed level at the interval.
Then on 50 minutes, when Orient’s corner was headed away, it fell to Donley on the edge of the box, with the Spurs man striking a sweet volley that arrowed into the bottom corner, leaving the Wrexham goalkeeper unmoved.

Donley has been likened to England legend
The technique that Donley showed to keep the strike down was something special and reminiscent of the things that a young Tom Huddlestone used to do at White Hart Lane.
It is moments like those that have evoked Spurs legend Graham Roberts to compare the young midfielder to Man Utd great David Beckham.
While Donley has a long way to go before he can even start to justify those sorts of comparisons, the youngster has a big chance to become a key first-team player at Spurs if he can catch Ange Postecoglou‘s eye in pre-season.
