Jan Vertonghen has taken to Instagram to record a story featuring his compatriot and fellow defender Toby Alderweireld.
Tottenham confirmed earlier today that Alderweireld had committed his future to the club by signing a new contract until 2023.
Vertonghen recorded footage of Alderweireld in the Hotspur Way changing room which included emoji’s of a pen and a bag featuring a dollar sign to represent his new deal.
Ironically, Vertonghen finds himself out of contract at the Champions League finalists at the end of the season with many fans, including this one, hopeful that he will become the next player to put pen to paper on a fresh deal.

The Belgian pair have been a rock at the heart of the Spurs defence over recent seasons which has seen the club become Champions League regulars.
