Tottenham Hotspur academy graduate, Japhet Tanganga, was thrown in at the deep end this season when Jose Mourinho handed him his full Premier League debut against Liverpool.
The Lilywhites lost the match 1-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but Tanganga was one of the stars of the show.
The youngster was tasked with marking Sadio Mane for the majority of the match, before moving from centre-back to left-back in order to mark Mo Salah for the final minutes.
Tanganga has now revealed that he was actually dealing with cramp for the final 25 minutes of the game in an interview with John McDermott and David Beckham.
“The penny dropped for me and I realised I’m in a field where I’ve got a talent to do well in football…” @JTanganga99 ? @AIAGroup_Press ⚪️ #AIASpurs pic.twitter.com/diDldqCPwJ
