Video: Jason Cundy leaps to the defence of Mauricio Pochettino

With Tottenham’s elimination from the Carabao Cup at the hands of Colchester United on Tuesday night, Mauricio Pochettino has come under a lot of pressure.

Some Spurs fans on social media have questioned if he has taken the club has far as he can and whether the club will now be better off without the Argentine.

Former Tottenham and Chelsea defender Jason Cundy has now ripped Spurs fans who want Pochettino to be sacked. Speaking to talkSPORT, the 49-year-old insisted that it was the Tottenham board that is stopping them from reaching the next level.

He also waxed lyrical about the job the Argentine has done since taking over in North London.

I partly agree with the point Cundy is making here. While calls for Pochettino to be sacked are completely ridiculous, it is not fair to blame the Spurs board either. They have just completed a massive stadium project and also splashed more than 100 million in the summer on new players.
