Video: Jenas claims he is ‘watching a mid-table team’ in Tottenham

Former Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas has not been impressed in the slightest by what he is seeing from the North Londoners in recent matches.

The Lilywhites have had mixed results since the Premier League’s restart with an improvement defensively being offset by a complete lack of creativity going forward.

Jenas questioned if it was Mauricio Pochettino’s management that was making the Tottenham players seem better than they were for the last couple of years.

The former England international suggested that watching the North Londoners in action was like watching a mid-table side.

Here is what Jenas said about Tottenham’s recent displays to BBC 5 Live Sport prior to beating Arsenal.

Spurs Web Opinion

I think a bit more patience is necessary from Spurs fans as it is clear that this season has been a transitional one. Mourinho has admitted that he really likes our attacking players and so it is only fair that he is given a chance to build his own team.

The lack of sharpness from the likes of Kane and Son is understandable given that they are coming from a long break. It is not just Spurs who have played poorly but the quality of football in the Premier League has been left a lot to be desired since the restart.
