Video: Jenas insists Spurs should resist temptation of managerial change

If there were any doubts as to whether Tottenham were indeed in a crisis, then the 3-0 defeat to Brighton this evening removed all doubts.

Jermaine Jenas and Joe Cole were analyzing the game for BT Sport and the pair didn’t hold back in their criticism of the players after the game.

Jenas admitted that the Tottenham hierarchy might be tempted to replace Pochettino as the situation felt quite similar to times in the past when Spurs have made managerial changes.

However, the former Spurs midfielder opined that the problems go much higher than just the players or the manager and insisted that the club should resist the temptation to take a quick fix approach by sacking Pochettino.

The reality is that the manager is always the person who is likely to take the fall in these types of situations as it is much easier to replace the manager than it is to replace the entire squad. However, Jenas is spot on in saying that the club wouldn’t be in this situation, to begin with, had they freshened up the squad a bit more over the last couple of seasons.
