There are very few players in recent history who are as loved at White Hart Lane as Jermain Defoe. However, the striker has now made a revelation that could make him even more popular among the Tottenham faithful.
The striker was prolific in both spells in North London, as well as being one of the top scorers of the Premier League era.
He was sold Portsmouth in the January of 2008 after falling out of favour with Juande Ramos but returned a year later as he followed Harry Redknapp to North London.
The 37-year-old has now revealed that he had a chance to join Italian giants Juventus instead of returning to White Hart Lane.
While Defoe admitted he was flattered by Juve’s interest, he insisted that he always had his heart set on a Spurs return as long as they wanted him back.

"I just wanted to go back to Tottenham." ⚪
