Video: Juan Foyth continues to be a potential liability to Tottenham

The raw talent of Juan Foyth is there for all to see, he has the ability to play the ball calmly from the back and shows composure well beyond his 21 years.

However, the Spurs defender is becoming prone to making critical errors in his game. In November, Mauricio Pochettino’s side were cruising to a 3-0 victory at Wolves, only for Foyth to be on the wrong end of two penalty decisions that saw Wolves given an invite back into the game and left us clinging on to a 3-2 victory.

He was also a fault for a costly error in the North London derby defeat to Arsenal when his botched touch saw Arsenal gain advantage over their rivals in a 4-2 defeat for Foyth and his team-mates.

Foyth has also shown glimpses of brilliance that have led to him being called into the Argentina national team, however he had another game to forget on Friday when he gave away a 76th minute penalty in his country’s 3-1 friendly defeat at the hands of Venezuela.

The defender was also booked earlier in the match for a very rash challenge on the halfway line.

He needs to iron out the silly mistakes of his game, otherwise it could end up costing Tottenham dearly.
