Tottenham Hotspur failed in their quest to be crowned the champions of Europe for the first time in their history early last month.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side battled back from the jaws of exit from the Champions League on more than one occasion last season to book a place in the final against Liverpool.
However, after the dramatic journey to the final two of the competition, Spurs were disappointing in the final which saw Jurgen Klopp’s side win 2-0.
Harry Kane came back into the starting line up for the match in Madrid and performed well below his usual standard.
The striker admitted during the club’s pre-season tour of the Far East that the final against Liverpool was there for the taking and is something which the players now need to put behind them ahead of the new campaign.
