Antonio Conte called Harry Kane after the 1-0 win against Man City this evening to congratulate the striker on his record-breaking Tottenham goal.
Conte himself had to sit the match out in Italy after he had his gallbladder removed earlier this week, leaving Cristian Stellini in charge of the match against Pep Guardiola (Daily Mail).
In the head coach’s absence, Spurs not only recorded a win and a clean sheet, but Harry Kane netted to become Tottenham’s all-time outright top goal scorer, inching ahead of the late Jimmy Greaves onto 267 (Daily Mail).
Conte called Kane on the phone during the dressing room celebrations to tell him how proud he was of the landmark and the victory.

Spurs Web Opinion:
Harry Kane deserved the victory today so much. No one wanted him to break the record during a defeat or a meaningless game. Instead, he broke it to win a match that could prove to be a turning point for Tottenham this season.
