Ex-Tottenham Hotspur full-back, Kieran Trippier, has finally opened up on the series of events that occurred behind the scenes in North London leading up to his summer exit.
Trippier was sold to Atletico Madrid for around £20m in the 2019 summer window just months after helping Spurs to a Champions League final.
The England right-back has now claimed that this came after meetings with both Pochettino and Daniel Levy, neither of whom could guarantee that he was in their 2019/20 plans.
Trippier also added that people he trusted had informed him that Spurs had been offering him to clubs behind his back.
Listen to Kieran’s comments on The Beautiful Game Podcast below:
“I heard off people that I trust that they (Spurs) tried to offload me and they were offering me to clubs‼️”
