Ledley King has revealed that he has been helping to mentor Japhet Tanganga.
After impressing on the club’s pre-season tour of the Far East where he coped admirably when marking Cristiano Ronaldo was rewarded with his full senior debut at centre-back in the Carabao Cup defeat to Colchester United.
The 20-year-old failed to make a further appearance before Mauricio Pochettino was sacked and was handed his Premier League debut against Liverpool by Jose Mourinho last weekend.
He followed up his impressive performance against Jurgen Klopp’s side with a Man of the Match display in the FA Cup third round replay win against Middlesbrough on Tuesday night, where he operated on the right side of the defence.
King admits that he has been left impressed by the academy product and has high hopes for the defender.
