Video: Liverpool and Man City won’t dominate next season insists Spurs player

Tottenham Hotspur threw away the opportunity to challenge for the Premier League title last season.

A poor run of form which started towards the end of February with a 2-1 defeat at Burnley followed with the inability to win any of their next four matches meant that Liverpool and Manchester City were well and truly out of reach.

Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen has reflected on last season and revealed that he does not expect title winners Manchester City and runners up Liverpool to be so dominant during the upcoming season.

Second-place Liverpool finished a staggering 25 points ahead of Chelsea in third place and 26 ahead of Vertonghen’s Tottenham in fourth.

The Belgian is hoping that Spurs can learn from last season’s disappointment and believes that there will be six teams which are looking to challenge for the title.
