Jamie Carragher has heaped praise onto the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust and senior Spurs players for the role they may have played in the furlough saga.
Spurs initially announced that they would be cutting the wages of 550 non-playing staff to 80% while putting them on the government Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme.
However, the club revealed yesterday that they have reversed their decision, partly due to a backlash from fans.
The Supporters’ Trust penned a public letter to Tottenham, urging them to U-turn, while one report stated that the players had a part to play (Daily Mail).
Carragher congratulated both groups, as well as Daniel Levy and Tottenham in general:
“It shows the big part supporters can play in the decisions their clubs make so a big well done.” ?@Carra23 has praised the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust for their part in Spurs’ decision reversal regarding the government’s furlough scheme.
