Video: Liverpool legend offers blunt verdict on Hugo Lloris and Spurs defence

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has launched a damning verdict of Hugo Lloris and Tottenham’s defence.

Tottenham’s miserable run of form continued at the weekend when Jose Mourinho’s side were on the receiving end of a 3-0 defeat by Manchester City.

The loss meant that Spurs have now lost four of their last five Premier League games, as many defeats as in their previous 28 league matches.

Lloris did not cover himself in glory at the Etihad after failing to keep out Rodri’s penalty despite the Frenchman getting a hand to the ball and was also beaten at his near post for City’s second.

Davinson Sanchez also was guilty of a lapse of concentration when he was easily muscled off the ball by Ilkay Gundogan for the German to score his second of the game.

Carragher, who was speaking on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football (15/2) believes that Lloris and the rest of the defence are not good enough to hold onto a lead, having dropped ten points after leading at half time in Premier League matches this season.
