Video: ‘Lots of them have to go’ – Souness calls for senior figures to leave

Graeme Souness questions whether the senior figures at the ‘Big Six’ clubs can be ‘taken seriously’ at Premier League meetings after they were prepared to join a breakaway Super League.

Tottenham Hotspur were one of the six English clubs to announce that they had joined the European Super League, a new midweek competition.

Last night, Chelsea and Manchester City became the first two clubs to withdraw from the competition, with fans having protested outside Stamford Bridge prior to the Premier League fixture against Brighton.

Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward became the first senior figure to step down from his role, with Souness believing that there could be more heads to roll at other clubs.
