Luka Modric has just recreated the most iconic goal he scored in a Tottenham shirt in Real Madrid’s latest win over win over Girona.
Many great players have graced the pitch at White Hart Lane over the years, but not too many of them oozed as much class as Luka Modric did.
The midfielder was the heartbeat of Harry Redknapp‘s Spurs side which qualified for the Champions League for the first time in 2010 and played some scintillating football.
Modric did not score a lot of goals at Spurs, being more of an orchestrater in midfield, but he did score some beauties, including his strike at the Reebok Stadium against Bolton back in 2012.
Rafael Van de Vaart played a corner kick to the Croat, who took a touch before cutting across the ball from 25 yards to send it sailing into the top corner.

Luka Modric goal looks just like his Tottenham strike vs Bolton
Despite being 39 years of age, Modric is still going strong at Real Madrid and continues to be an important player for Carlo Ancelotti’s men.
The former Tottenham man rolled back the clock at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday, recreating the exact same strike in Madrid’s win over Girona.
Modric used the exact same technique to cut across the ball on the volley to send it arrowing into the top corner.

Modric deserves to be in the conversation for the greatest-ever
Modric’s name is sometimes overlooked when it comes to the conversation regarding the greatest ever, with the former Tottenham Hotspur man sometimes not getting the praise that the likes of Xavi, Andrea Pirlo and Steven Gerrard get.
However, one can argue that he is the greatest midfielder of the modern era, purely because of the longevity he has had at the highest level.
While the greats of his era such as Lionel Messi and Cristian Ronaldo have moved on to inferior leagues, for Modric to still be doing what he is for the biggest club in the world is an unbelievable achievement.
