Video: Manchester United boss reveals his admiration for Spurs star

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has responded Roy Keane’s request his side Harry Kane by hailing the Tottenham Hotspur forward as one of the best goalscorers in world.

Former United captain Keane made the comments during his appearance as a pundit on Sky Sports after their draw with Liverpool on Sunday.

Ahead of United’s Europa League fixture against Partizan Belgrade, Solskjaer was asked about a possible move for the marksman and whilst praising Kane, insisted he is a Tottenham player.

Kane was once again in impressive form on Tuesday night when he netted twice in the 5-0 demolition of Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League.

United have been left without an out-and-out forward since they sold Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan during the summer transfer window.

“Roy’s quite straightforward, isn’t he?” Solskjaer told the Manchester Evening News.

“For us it’s working hard. Getting Anthony back is gonna be a massive boost for us and I’m sure when Anthony [Martial] comes back that’ll help Marcus [Rashford] as well.

“With the forwards we’ve got and the pace, I’m looking forward to the next few weeks.”

“There aren’t many Lewandowskis and Harry Kanes,” he added. “They’re like Shearer, Van Nistelrooy – fantastic goalscorers.

“Ours are different types of players, but I have to say I like someone who can finish half a chance and he does that.

Opinion

Practically every manager in world football would want Harry Kane in their side, but it would be madness if Daniel Levy ever entertained the notion of selling his prize asset, especially to a Premier League rival.
