Video: Manchester United legend claims Spurs’ summer signing is way off his best

Roy Keane has claimed that Gareth Bale is way off the level he was a few years ago and does not see the Welshman rediscovering his best.

The 31-year-old rejoined Tottenham Hotspur on a season long loan deal in the summer from Real Madrid to much media attention (BBC).

Bale has only managed to feature in ten matches in all competitions for Tottenham this season, scoring two goals (transfermarkt).

Jose Mourinho decided to bring Bale off the bench during yesterday’s 2-0 defeat to Leicester City but was unable to help influence the match.

Keane used the example of Messi and Ronaldo as world class players who need to be playing week in, week out and is not confident that Bale can rekindle the form that made him such a favourite in North London.
