Video: Marcus Edwards scores stunning solo goal against Maritimo

Marcus Edwards is continuing to impress in Portugal after scoring yet another impressive goal.

The 21-year-old left Tottenham Hotspur last summer having made just one senior appearance for the club – against Gillingham in the EFL Cup in September 2016 (transfermarkt).

Edwards completed a switch to Liga Nos outfit Vitória with the North Londoners agreeing to net a 50 per cent sell-on fee (Football.London).

The midfielder was in action this evening in Vitória’s top flight match against Maritimo and he broke the deadlock after 24 minutes.

Edwards picked up the ball inside the Maritimo half and showed his superb dribbling skills before performing a stunning 360 degree turn to bamboozle an opposition defender which gave him the space to go through on goal and beat the goalkeeper at the near post.

Portuguese news outlet Guimaresdigital reported in June that Tottenham and Manchester United could both be keen to bring him back to England, however Football.London journalist Alasdair Gold poured cold water on the report.
