Luka Vuskovic fails to control his temper

Vuskovic has shown maturity beyond his years for much of his loan spell at Westrlo, with the 17-year-old becoming a key figure in the Belgian side’s backline.

He has impressed everyone with his composure and dominance at the back as well as the eye he has shown for goal in the opposition box.

However, the on-loan Tottenham man showed his age during Westerlo’s 2-1 loss to STVV, with the defender losing his cool at the referee and paying the ultimate price.

After the referee blew the final whistle, the Westerlo players went over him to protest, with Vuskovic in particular being very animated.

The referee initially handed the centre-back a yellow card, but the Spurs-owned defender was a little too aggressive in his protests, despite attempts by his teammates to intervene. That forced the referee to hand the Croat a red card, which means that he will now have to see out a suspension.

Devine also started the game and played all 90 minutes for Westerlo, and the Tottenham midfielder scored the equaliser at the end of first-half stoppage time.

The goal was fortuitous for the 20-year-old, who put in a scrumptious cross to the back post, only to see the cross evade everybody and curl into the back of the net.

It was Devine’s fourth goal of the season in 15 matches, with the Spurs academy graduate continuing to impress in the number ten role.
