Video: MOTD commentator mocks Arsenal fans after uneducated song aimed at Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur Football Club were formed on September 5th 1882 by boys from the local grammar school and Hotspur Cricket Club (The Telegraph).

During our illustrious history, Spurs have won major trophies including the FA Cup in 1901 whilst still being a non-league club; a feat which is unlikely to be repeated in modern football.

Our greatest moment came in 1961 when we became the first club in the twentieth century to win the League title and FA Cup in the same season.

However, if you believe Arsenal fans, football began in the Premier League era after they sung ‘stand up if you’ve won the league’ during the North London derby at the Emirates Stadium yesterday afternoon.

Match of the Day commentator Jonathan Pearce could not resist a dig at the Gunners lack of knowledge when he made a jibe during MOTD2 when he said in response to the song that football did exist before the Premier League.

Pearce is a self-proclaimed Bristol City fan, which will eliminate the suggestion among the Woolwich that the 59-year-old harbours any affiliation to the white half of North London (The Guardian).
