Jose Mourinho was seen embracing Tanguy Ndombele after Napoli’s 1-0 win over AS Roma on Sunday.
Mourinho and Ndombele certainly had their disagreements during their time at Spurs, with the Portuguese coach even publicly criticising the Frenchman for his work rate (Football.London).
However, the pair did eventually seem to put their differences behind them, with the former Lyon man being a regular starter for Spurs during the 2020-21 season.
It was even reported this summer that Mourinho wanted to reunite with Ndombele at Roma, with Tottenham alleged to have explored a part-exchange offer deal involving the midfielder and Nicolo Zaniolo (Calciomeracato).
The on-loan Tottenham man started for Napoli at the Stadio Olimpico over the weekend and played 57 minutes as Luciano Spalletti’s men came away with a 1-0 win.
Mourinho was seen hugging Ndombele and having a conversation with the 25-year-old after the game.

This might be very cynical of me but most of Jose’s actions seem to have an ulterior motive and I would not be surprised if he is potentially laying the groundwork for Roma to sign Ndombele next summer in case Napoli decide not to take up the permanent option.
