Jose Mourinho has all but confirmed in today’s press conference his side will be making no more signings.
Despite a summer of speculation surrounding the future of Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld, with just hours to go, it seems his future is safe with Spurs for at least another year.
Manchester United had Alderweireld as their number one target for the majority of this transfer window but neither side could agree on a deal.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy was holding out for a £60m fee for the 29-year-old defender or Anthony Martial in return.
However, United have been unwilling to bow down to the demands from the Spurs chairman leaving the deal to slowly fade out.
With just days until Spurs kick-off their Premier League campaign, could we see Alderweireld start for Spurs against Newcastle United?
