Video: Mourinho responds to criticism of Ndombele’s defending

Tottenham Hotspur lost 3-2 to Wolves at home in the Premier League on Sunday, denting their hopes of finishing in the top four yet again this season.

One clip that did the rounds on social media showed Tanguy Ndombele’s less than enthusiastic attempts to track back and defend against a Pedro Neto break away. This came shortly after the Frenchman was brought on to the field of play in the 77th minute in place of Japhet Tanganga.

When asked about the video during his press conference at Hotspur Way earlier today, Jose Mourinho responded with laughter and a wry smile, while insisting that Pedro Neto is very fast.

Ndombele’s efforts had attracted criticism from some Spurs fans on Twitter.

He even added that it was impossible for Tanguy to catch him, although this comment seemed a little tongue in cheek.
