Jose Mourinho has admitted that the players were disappointed with their performance in the 3-1 defeat to Sheffield United on Thursday, and insisted that he expects to see a reaction against Everton this evening.
The Spurs head coach hinted that he was happy to be playing so quickly after the defeat at Bramall Lane and that it was a good opportunity for players to turn around their fortunes.
The 57-year-old made it clear that he was not underestimating Carlo Ancelotti’s side and insisted that they were more than good enough to qualify for the Europa League.

"The best way to express that feeling is to play football again and make a difference in the attitude. I expect a reaction."

While our chances of qualifying for the Champions League are over, one cannot underestimate how important Monday’s game is in the grander scheme of things. A win against Everton will allow us to put Thursday’s defeat behind us and build momentum. However, another loss could seriously dent the players’ confidence in Jose’s methods, which is the last thing we need ahead of next season.
