Jose Mourinho has claimed that Sheffield United players showed more hunger and intensity than his players as the Blades ran out 3-1 victors last night at Bramall Lane.
The defeat comes as a crushing blow for Mourinho’s men, who will now have to give up any lingering hopes of finishing in the top four.
The Tottenham head coach claimed that, although his players won most of the first balls, they did not show the same hunger as their opponents in contesting for the second balls.
Here’s what the Spurs boss told Sky Sports after the game when questioned about his side’s defensive frailties (Main Event from 18:00):
🗣"The dirty fight for the second ball they were more humble and more aggressive, I think they gave more than us"

What we saw today defensively is what we have seen for the entirety of the season. Defenders suffering from lapses in concentration will get punished at this level and all three of Sheffield United’s goals were extremely soft ones to give away.
